Welcome!

Welcome to Chinako's Cosplay! Here you will find my personal collection of hand-made costumes that I've been putting together since 1998. I started cosplay on a whim and fell in love with the costume designs and challenges of trying to make them both accurate to the character's design and uniquely my own in style. All of them have been worn at least once to a convention or venue, and some have even won awards.

 What is Cosplay?

Cosplay or "Costume Play" is derived from Japan, where people dress up like their favorite character from an anime, manga, or video game and attend conventions. Although cosplay doesn't have a huge following in Japan these days, world-wide it has become a phenomenon with people dressing up at any occassion and paying tribute to their favorite characters. Often this goes hand-in-hand with role-playing, but that is usually up to the cosplayer.
