Princess Kraehe is the puppet of her father, a raven, and he sends her into battle with many crow minions by her side. She battles for the unrequited love of a prince named Mytho. She is strong and beautiful despite being used by her father without her knowledge.
How I Made It
After watching a music video dedicated to this series, I enlisted my sister to cosplay by my side as Princess Kraehe. She was thrilled at the idea and I began working on my first pair of costumes. Princess Kraehe’s costume was made with a heavily modified leotard. The front was cut open and I sewed a piece of nylon to the inside to keep the front pieces together but still keep it looking as though it was wide open. I sewed invisible bra straps to hold the costume on. The tutu was heavily modified with large crow feathers, and wire to keep its form. My sister also dyed her point shoes to match the costume. The wig took over 17 hours to style!
The crow minion costume was made from scratch by sewing a piece of fabric to create the cape. Individual feathers were cut out of the cape to give it the feathered-look. Gray tights were bought and drawn on, and the hood was attached to a folded piece of painted cardboard for the beak, with feathers sewn between the two. The eyes are cut out cardstock that were sewed into the hood. I cut eyeholes for my own eyes and covered them with thin black nylon so I could see through the mask.
