Sailorsaturn from Bishojou Senshi Sailormoon
Debuted: Anime Boston 2006How I Made It
Sailorsaturn has always been my favorite senshi! I felt we had a lot in common and had always wanted to cosplay as her from the moment I learned what cosplay was. This costume was three years in the making and when I finally finished it I couldn’t have been more proud! The leotard was the base (I used the one I had from my Sailorearth cosplay) and the skirt and sailor top were made from scratch. The bows are actually curtain fabric that shimmer black or garnet depending on the light--a perfect medium between the manga version of her bows (garnet) and the anime version (black). The talisman on her chest and chocker were made from Styrofoam and tinfoil. The earrings are also made from scratch with clay and wire and were very light to wear. The headband is made from a gold metal sheet, with a clear gem placed at the center and held on by elastic beneath the unaltered wig. The boots were store bought, but cut, painted, and laced by hand. Her glaive was made with PVP pipe, poster board, and foam board, making it light to carry around and also safe.Images taken by Kyle Chambliss
