History: Child - As Tailor Bear, he was fun and warm towards everyone he knew (and even those he didn't). He usually stayed indoors at his tailor shop sewing clothes and accessories for the Care Bears. He was so good at what he did, that he would even sew a few Care Bears themselves after tougher battles with their enemies.

Preteen - During a very tough fight between the Care Bears and No Heart, Tailor Bear was called to the scene to help fight and also fix up the wounded bears. He did his very best, but suddenly No Heart turned to attack Tenderheart Bear with Tailor Bear in the way. Tailor Bear lost the top part of his left ear and his left eye in that battle, and no one else was able to fix it. Feeling like a failure, he blamed the Care Bears for his misfortune, only to find solitude in hurting himself physically. Soon after this, Tenderheart Bear banished him from Care-a-Lot, due to his increasingly disturbing behavior and bad attitude towards the other bears.

Present - Masochistic still holds a deep self-hatred as well as a loathing for the Care Bears. He hates that he was ever one of them and thought that people could change. He never did fix his ear or eye, and simply has torn his body apart to express exactly how he feels about the Care Bears, love, and caring. He is often seen with a few needles randomly pierced through his body, so he can easily tare himself a new hole if and when he feels the urge. He refuses to seek help, or even talk this matter over with Tenderheart Bear and anyone who pries or offers him help is usually forced to watch him hurt himself right before their eyes.
